UP JOURNAL

Terms of Service

Last updated September 17, 2026

These Terms govern your use of UP Journal — a web-based trading journal and analytics service — and any paid subscription you purchase through it. UP Journal is operated by its founder, a natural person established in Romania ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or purchasing a subscription you accept these Terms.

1. The service

UP Journal provides tools for recording, analysing and reviewing your own trading activity, including journals, plans, analytics, backtesting simulations and reporting. The service runs entirely on our web application at up-journal.com.

The service provides record-keeping and statistical analysis of data YOU enter. It does not execute trades, does not connect to your broker, does not provide financial, investment or tax advice, and does not guarantee any trading outcome.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use the service. Access is currently invite-based; invitations are single-use and personal. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

You must provide accurate registration information and be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country.

3. Plans and billing

  • Trader — $9.99 per month, or $95 per year billed annually (about $7.92 per month).
  • Pro — $14.99 per month, or $145 per year billed annually (about $12.08 per month). Pro includes a 14-day free trial: nothing is charged during the trial, cancelling before it ends avoids any charge, and a payment card is required to start it.

Payments for paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our Merchant of Record. Paddle acts as reseller of record for the subscription: it collects the payment, handles VAT/sales tax and issues the invoice. Your banking statement will show a Paddle charge. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) until cancelled. Prices are shown at checkout; applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Paddle.

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current billing period remains active until it ends. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.

4. Refunds and withdrawal

Our refund policy is set out in the Refund Policy document. In short: we do not issue voluntary refunds; consumers in the EU may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, subject to the waiver presented at checkout.

5. Your data

All journal entries, trades, plans, notes and files you create remain yours. We store them solely to provide the service to you. You can export your data from the application and request deletion at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, to probe or overload our infrastructure, to resell access without an agreement, or to upload content you have no right to store. We may suspend accounts that endanger the service or other users.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and correct, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change or discontinue non-essential features; material changes to these Terms will be notified in the application.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for trading losses, missed profits, data loss caused by third-party services, or indirect/consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability for intent or gross negligence, and statutory consumer rights).

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where practicable. On deletion, personal data is removed per the Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Romania. Where we direct the service to consumers in the European Union, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your EU country of residence continue to apply where they are more favourable to you. Disputes are resolved amicably first; otherwise by the competent courts of Romania.

11. Contact

You can reach us at [email protected] or through the support section inside the UP Journal application (available after signing in). Questions about a payment, invoice or refund can also be raised with Paddle buyer support — the details are included in every Paddle receipt.
